HOW TO LOSE THE LAST 10 POUNDS- part 4 

Manage Your Emotions without Food & Stop Emotional Eating

-The biggest cause and driving factor for unwanted and unplanned eating are YOUR EMOTIONS. Particularly intense and uncomfortable emotions:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Overwhelm
  • Loneliness
  • Sadness/depression
  • Grief
  • Boredom
  • Restlessness
  • Confusion
  • Frustration
    Exhaustion
    Irritability

TODAYS MODERN DAY WOMEN (like you!)  is extremely busy and has tons of responsibilities  (home, career business owner, health, hobbies, kids/spouse, etc) and for this reason, most of us experience stress, overwhelm, anxiety, fatigue, exhaustion & more!

It’s easy and very accessible to get unhealthy foods that taste delicious and make us feel better at any given moment. That’s why we do it.
But it is TEMPORARY & it has unwanted consequences: WEIGHT GAIN or Plateau.

For this reason, it’s important that you learn HEALTHY WAYS TO MANAGE YOUR EMOTIONS without food.
If you continue to go to food and give it the job of managing your undesirable emotions, you will continue to get your current result (gain weight/stay same weight).

ALL OF THESE EMOTIONS ARE A PART OF THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GO AWAY.

CURRENT PATTERN: (that isn’t working for you)

FEEL FEELING —-> EAT FEEL GOOD FOOD —-> GAIN WEIGHT/STAY SAME. 

 

NEW PATTERN: (that will get you results!)

FEEL FEELING —-> DON’T EAT FOOD (be uncomfortable) —–> LOSE WEIGHT.

 

**It’s important to break the cycle of emotional eating by stopping it at the place where you FEEL THE FEELING. and let that feeling be there.

In order to do this, you must LEARN TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE FEELINGS.
Here’s the 3 step process:

Step 1- Become Aware of your current patterns.
….What is the feeling that drives you to eat things you don’t plan to eat and that aren’t aligned with your weight and body goals?

Step 2- Little by little develop the skill of FEELING the uncomfortable feeling.
…Start with letting the feeling be there for 2 hours before you eat the thing that you want to eat until you are able to delay for 24 hours.
…Remember that a feeling is simply a vibration in your body. It won’t hurt you. It’s uncomfortable, yes, but you’re not going to die. You will survive it and start to establish NEW and more useful patterns/habits and an ability to manage your emotions without unnecessary foods.

Step 3- Start paying attention to what you are thinking when you FEEL THIS FEELING that drives you to eat foods that are NOT aligned with your weight and body goals.
…TRY THIS: Instead of eating the thing you want, grab a pen and paper. Then write down what you are thinking and feeling.

Start implementing this 3 step process immediately in order to LEARN HOW TO MANAGE YOUR EMOTIONS WITHOUT FOOD & STOP OVER-EATING.
…You’re going to learn a lot about yourself! Trust me. & more importantly, you’re going to see a change in your weight-loss results!
