Once upon a time...
a woman (yup, it was me) struggled with her weight for over 18+ years. Ok let me be real. The story is by no means a fairy tale, but it is MY STORY.
For about 20 years, it felt like maybe having a body I loved just wasn't in the cards for me. Now I'm living in that body every day.
The road was a long windy road. The road was filled with detours and diet trends, U-turns and self criticism. I'd lose weight then gain it. I'd be on a diet then off a diet.
At one point I weighed almost 200 lbs (197 to be exact!) and my last 10 pounds were actually 80 pounds.
For about 20 years, it felt like maybe having a body I loved just wasn't in the cards for me. Now I'm living in that body every day.
Although to be honest I probably weighed more than that, because I weighed myself after a couple weeks of 'eating better'… at that point I just couldn't muster the courage to see my actual weight at my heaviest. To say I was frustrated, exhausted, confused and demoralized would be an understatement.
I would feel so endlessly torn between wanting to lose the weight more than anything, but also not wanting to lose parts of myself that I love so much: moments shared with family, my strong connection to my culture (Latina in the house!), not to mention as an avid explorer of the world - enjoying a chilled Caipirinha on the beaches of Brazil or a beautiful hand-made pasta on the Amalfi coast… (*important note* WITHOUT the frustrating vacation sabotage).
For 2 decades I just couldn't make the puzzle pieces fit.
I nearly lost the belief that it was possible for me to have it all. To feel good in my body AND enjoy my life to the fullest, on my own terms. "I'm a smart woman, why is it so freaking hard to lose this weight!?"
I bounced back and forth between believing I had figured it out, and being disappointed that it had backfired, yet again.
Eternally stuck between losing weight and not losing weight, I gained and lost the same pounds too many times to count.
Every time I tried, I always felt like I was sacrificing parts of myself I wasn't willing to sacrifice. (hint: so of course it never worked!).
This would be the part, where most will tell you about this ONE 'AHA' moment where they flipped a 'magic switch' and get thin for life. But where others won't be real with you, I will.
There wasn't ONE 'flip the switch' magical moment.
What did happen instead though (and how I DID lose 80 pounds, kept it off and changed my life forever in ways I couldn't have even imagined):
Through much trial and error what was important to recognize was that this weight needed to be lost in a way that fit my desired lifestyle and ON MY OWN TERMS.
Figuring out my weight loss
Figuring out my weight loss truly required me to go on a journey with myself that going on another 'diet' on it's own would have NEVER changed. For me the process involved weighing up to 197 lbs, gaining and losing 30-50lbs many times, earning degrees, certifications, learning so much about food, nutrition, women's bodies, psychology, habit-changing, lifestyle redesign ( I can geek out on all this stuff but I'll spare you the details for now…) but I've abbreviated the process for you into just months.
THE LAST 10™ was created the moment I realized I needed to combine the many years of formal education, nutrition and mindset training, life experience (aka bomb ass foundation) powerfully with my own teachings of belief, possibility, unapologetic confidence & more… (I had to figure out how to teach these things to myself in this area of my life, now I can hand it over to you).
Here's the thing- there are tons of nutritionists out there. Tons of mindset coaches. Tons of weight loss coaches.
I know that. I need you to know this: I've got myself to where I am, having had all the cards stacked against me from the get go (woman of color, daughter of immigrants, minimal resources, for a huge part of my life felt so unworthy I'd rather not be seen). I never would have imagined ALL I have created and get to enjoy today.
And BTW Please hear me when I say: no amount of Kale or Quinoa would have ever created THIS kind of change in my life. I had to completely upgrade my relationship with myself, with my body, with food and with my life!
I know that. Most importantly, I am a woman.
A woman, who spent ALL TOO MUCH TIME thinking about this and trying to figure it out. I know very well what it feels like to feel dissatisfied with my body, frustrated with my weight, unable to figure out how to take the best care of myself when life felt challenging (exhibit A- that time when I gained 25 pounds being the only Latina in my graduate school program, and not knowing how else to deal with all the demands, pressure, and stress I was navigating…).

All together I lost 80 pounds, and I figured out how to keep it off with ease, with joy, with love.
Fast forward to today, I have WAY more responsibilities than I did back in graduate school- I'm the mom of a very energetic toddler, I run a multiple 7-figure company, I'm an active participant in my community, I host a weekly podcast… and SO MUCH MORE.
When I tell you that I can understand the many hats that women wear, I really do. But I can also tell you that I've discovered and created process will help you ditch the weight you're not loving but without sacrificing things that matter so much to you.
In fact, I would have never been able to imagine that I would be able to take than mental energy and that brain space to: write a book, start a business (I've now 5x'd my earning potential!)
…and the most priceless thing of all: (yes even more priceless than 5x my $$$) is that now when I go on vacation anywhere in the world I don't spend a single second worrying about food or my weight or feeling uncomfortable taking a family picture. I can focus on my daughter's face and the way she's amazed looking at the ocean waves playing in the sand for the first time… feeling joyful and present sitting there in a 2 piece AND excited to take as many family pictures as possible!
It is a dream come true to be in a place where I love this part of my life. I love my relationship with food. I love my results. There's no hesitation whatsoever about struttin' my stuff. At all. I dropped the weight, I dropped the worry, I dropped the struggle. I freed up my mind and my life expanded, it feels richer than ever.
When I say 'deprivation-free', that really is an understatement.
When I stopped spending so much time struggling, my life got BIGGER (not smaller!) With this simple (but very effective!) and strategic approach- I have completely transformed my results-
