As a Revolutionary, you are a FORCE to be reckoned with.
As a Revolutionary, you are a FORCE to be reckoned with.
You possess a deep-seated desire for change and a determination to challenge the status quo. Itâs not that you wake up trying to be a rebel without a cause, you just naturally challenge the way things are done with your fierce independence and out of the box thinking. Youâre not afraid to ask the big questions that challenge societal norms (âWait, why canât we wear white after Labor day? Says who?â) and being told âthatâs not the way itâs doneâ has never stopped you from forging your own path. You have a deep-seated belief that you are the master of your own destiny.
This is exactly why the idea of following a âtraditional dietâ feels outdated, suffocating, restrictive, and even oppressive to you, as you donât do well with anything that feels like imposed external control aka: being told âwhat to doâ (and most definitely not without a damn good reason ). Itâs why you may feel confined by traditional dieting methods and struggle to find a sense of freedom in your weight loss journey.
Beneath the surface, there's a fierce revolutionary waiting to be unleashed. Listen my sister, this is a damn good thing, l canât wait to show you how to make this superpower work in your favor. đŞđź
The Rebellion Conundrum
Your same revolutionary spirit can sometimes lead to a sense of rebellion against yourself and your own goals, to the point where it hinders your own progress. You may find yourself resisting structure and longing for your own way to âdo this whole weight loss thingâ. Because you donât do well with following ârulesâ set by others (aka being âtold what to doâ or âfollowing a dietâ... me too, sister! đđťââď¸ ), you may also struggle to establish a sense of consistency in your approach to weight loss that BOTH creates the results you want, AND also feels good. Causing you to jump from one diet plan to another, searching for one that will give you the freedom you crave...
As a Revolutionary, you may try to squeeze yourself into the role of someone who can follow a strict regimen, but ultimately you find yourself feeling restricted, deprived and resenting your weight loss journey as a whole. And that's because this goes against WHO you are at your core. Your refusal to conform to external rules and dieting norms is a powerful expression of your autonomy and self-determination. THAT IS POWERFUL. However, this same defiance can also manifest as resistance to making positive changes for yourself, and thatâs what can feel frustrating and confusing- so letâs unpack it.
It's essential to recognize that true empowerment comes from aligning your actions with your goals and values, rather than rebelling against them. Everything about who you are rejects the notion of restrictive diets and rigid rules, because they stifle your freedom and autonomy. Finding a balance between your revolutionary spirit and your desire for personal growth will be key to unlocking your full potential and achieving your weight loss goals.
âRebellious behaviorsâ such as overeating in a way that doesnât even FEEL GOOD for you, as a response to real and/or perceived restrictions.
Feeling confused, conflicted or TORN between your desire for freedom and your weight loss goals- and believing that you need to âpickâ .
Believing the lie that in order to be feminist/smart, you canât lose weight in a way that HONORS your personal health and well-being.
Struggling to rely solely on willpower to achieve weight loss goals, this ends up with you overeating the foods youâre telling yourself you âcan't haveâ...
To harness your revolutionary spirit and achieve your weight loss goals in a way that feels like a fit for you and your life, it's essential to reframe your approach to food and self-care. Thereâs a reason why you find yourself rebelling against external rules and ârestrictionsâ, you simply werenât made for them, and yesâŚthere is another way to reclaim your personal goals: by empowering yourself to make informed and intentional choices that align with your values and goals, you get to do this your way. Itâs completely possible to have an approach to eating that honors your body's needs and honors your weight goals while still allowing for freedom and autonomy.
Also, it's important to acknowledge how societal expectations and gender norms may have influenced your relationship with food and weight loss. As a woman that prides herself on being a free thinker, youâre a master at giving the side eye to unrealistic beauty standards and ideas of how a woman âshould '' show up. But rebelling against a system without having something that YOU LOVE FOR YOURSELF in its place, something that honors what you truly want, isnât helping you sis. (I found this out the hard way too, Iâm with you! đđťââď¸) Youâll need a fresh NEW approach that empowers you to trust your body's signals and make choices aligned with your personal values and desires (*including, your desire to lose this weight).
This is how youâll blaze your own unique way for a liberated and authentic relationship with food and your body. One thatâs not only âsustainableâ but actually feels good for YOU, and fits your life-values and desires like a glove.
