The Overcommitment Trap
As a Powerhouse, your relentless dedication often comes at the expense of your own well-being and personal goals (yep, including your weight loss goal đ).
Your relentless drive and determination can sometimes lead you to overcommit and neglect your own needs, especially when it comes to rest, pleasure, and self-care. You find yourself constantly pushing yourself to the limit, believing that you need to do it all and be everything to everyone. This results in feelings of exhaustion and burnout, leaving you seeking solace in food as a means of escape and/or self-comfort
I get it, âself careâ can feel like a chore in itself. But this pattern of overworking and neglecting your own needs, is leaving little time or energy for YOU and then has you turning to food as a means of self-comfort and escape from the pressures of daily life.
Learning to prioritize your own needs and find better ways to cope with stress will be REQUIRED in achieving your desired weight loss.

To break free from the Overcommitment Trap, it's essential to prioritize putting things down (think Luisa from Disneyâs Encanto!) and allowing yourself to rest. Added note: if your eye twitched a little bit just thinking about the idea of doing ânothingâ...then, trust me, you need this. Changing this at itâs core, will change the eating patterns that have been holding you back. Youâll need to learn to delegate tasks and ask for support whenever and wherever needed. In order to break this cycle, rest isnât a ânice to haveâ, itâs A MUST.
