EP. 28- How to BE RELENTLESS.


In episode 27 I share with you my weight loss story. That episode is going to be so important for you to even take the amount of value that you could really take from listening to this episode, so if you haven’t yet, go back and listen to episode 27.

I am no different than you. When I tell you that I struggled with my weight for years and years, almost two decades, I truly, truly mean it. If you are experiencing the feeling of struggle, of stuck-ness, of all the frustration, of being exhausted, of being pissed off, of maybe feeling hopeless, I’ve been there. But that is no longer my reality. My reality now is that I fricken love my body! And it’s possible for you too.

Today I want to share one important thing that is necessary. I want you to be hopeful and definitely listen to my story and what I have to share with you and know that if it’s possible for me it’s possible for you.

The phrase that made all the difference

You’re going to have to adopt this if you want to get to this place where I am right now, where you no longer struggle with your weight, where you are at your dream come true.

This three-word phrase is what you’re going to have to do if you want to get to from where you’re at right now to where I am: I didn’t quit.

These words are so powerful:

I didn’t quit

I did not quit.

I did not fucking quit.

It was a journey of over 20 years and I did not quit.

Whatever you’re doing, think about how long you’ve been working on it. How long has it been?

Be hopeful. Know 300% that you can have what I have right now, the dream come true, go where you want to get to. You can get there.

So this is a mentality that you’re really going to have to get into. I will not quit. I just won’t quit.

I’m not going to fucking quit till I get there until I get to where I set out to go, until I create that result that I want to create for myself.

Absolutely you get to be the weight you want to be and wear the clothes you want to wear and shop wherever the heck you want to shop and look as amazing as you want to look. And that’s amazing.

But even beyond that, I now feel completely unlimited. Whatever I set my mind to, I can create it. I know that I have that kind of tenacity that if I set out to do something I will not quit until I achieve it. That is the most priceless thing about it.

I will not quit. I will not give up. I’m going to keep taking action. I’m going to keep moving forward until I figure this out and get to where I want to get to. I will not quit.

This can’t come from a place of ‘I have to do this’ or ‘I should’ or ‘I need to’. Those will never get you the results you want, or if they do it’s not going to feel good. There’s a very victim mentality in that approach.

Do it from a place of ‘I want this. So I’m going to go get it.’

I am not going to quit until I get this because I want it.

I didn’t quit. It got messy. It was a struggle. There were many to tears. It was hard. I cried. There were several times where I reached out and got help. I reached out to friends, I saw a therapist, I got resourceful. I messed up. I failed. But I got up again. I did not quit. I kept moving forward. I kept taking action.

You need to have the hope, the knowledge, the belief that this is possible for you, that it’s important and that you deserve it. You also need to have a relentlessness, a sort of mental toughness to keep going, to keep trying and keep moving forward until you get there.

If you pair those two things together, you are going to get to where I am today.

And once you make that decision that you’re not going to quit, it’s going to happen. It’s only a matter of time. You already decided you’re not going to quit. Therefore it is inevitable. It simply becomes a question of how long it is going to take. You’re going to get there, it’s just a matter of when not if. Be relentless in creating that for yourself and really making it happen.

It doesn’t have to take decades

It took me over 20 years to really get to exactly where I’m at now. But one thing that I’ve learned, especially very recently, is it doesn’t have to take that long. I had to go and put in that work to get those tools and strategies, but you don’t have to. You don’t have to spend 17 years, 20 years or even another year.

Coaching was something that really in the past few years has completely changed my life, not just with weight but in my relationships, in my business and in my own personal goals.

You can figure it out on your own. You absolutely can. I figured it out on my own and now I’ve built my entire practice off of it. But it took me 17-20 years.

The benefit of coaching is that when you pay for a mentor when you invest in yourself to get guidance and coaching, you are basically buying yourself time. You then have an expert that is completely just there with you, having your benefit in mind. Their sole purpose is your wellbeing and your success, you getting the results that you want to get. That is their job. That is what you hire them for.

My recommendation

If you have been listening to the podcast and you know the eating formula, you know a bunch of strategies but you’re still struggling, get some support. Get some help and even more specifically—because I am a coach and I truly believe in coaching—I would say, get yourself a coach

Invest in yourself because what you’re truly buying is life. You can figure it out on your own. But with coaching and mentorship and guidance, it just accelerates your results.

I have decided ever since that experience that I will for always and forever have a coach. You’re investing in yourself to have someone on your team, on your side of the ring, there just for you to help you create what you want. I would definitely suggest looking into someone who’s an expert in what it is that you are wanting to achieve.

Give yourself the gift that you will actually solve this. And one of the ways of being relentless and having that “I am not going to give up on this” attitude is getting resourceful and getting a new kind of support. Usually, that also will ask you to commit at a higher level and that equals results.

This is possible. Know also that you deserve this. Now pair that with some relentlessness.

I know you got it in you. If you really, really want this for yourself, be relentless in your pursuit for it.
