Manage your brain for new results

If you’re reading this, more than likely losing your last 10 pounds has not been easy. Maybe you feel stuck, frustrated, confused or unclear. However, you probably want it to feel easy, clear, simple and done. Right?

Losing your last 10 pounds is a new milestone for you. It’s a new level of results.

When you are aiming for new results, managing your brain is your number one weapon.

Yes, having a plan is important. It’s great to know ‘how’.

But you already have a plan. You already know ‘how’. If you need a refresher, go back and check out Episode 6.

If you are constantly asking yourself ‘how am I going to get this result?’ remember that there are tons of different strategies out there that could work.

But even more important than the ‘how’ is the ‘who’

Ask yourself this instead, “who do I need to be to get this result?”

Who am I becoming?

Probably you think about yourself as someone who struggles with their weight.

There’s some flavor, shape or form of “This has always been hard for me. This has always been a struggle for me. This might not be possible for me.”

That’s how you think about yourself. That’s your self-regard and self-identity in this area. Pay attention to how often you think of yourself as the woman who struggles with her weight.

Ask yourself, “what version of myself do I need to step into on a daily basis in order to get the results I want?”

Start thinking of yourself as the woman who:

  • Doesn’t struggle with her weight
  • Has a great relationship with food
  • Has a great relationship with her body
  • Has body confidence
  • Can go to any restaurant and make the best choices to maintain results
  • Can go on a trip or vacation and make the best choices to maintain results

It’s a daily decision. You are believing that you are that woman, and in that process, you are able to make the decisions you need to make and show up in your life the way you need to show up to make those results happen.

The power of identity

When you change the way you think about yourself you change your self-identity. So start paying attention to how you think about yourself.

The strongest force in the human personality is the need to remain consistent with one’s identity.” ~ Tony Robbins

If you are still identifying yourself as a woman who struggles with your weight that means that you are going to always come back to that. Your behaviors will always go back to that and you’ll always keep proving to yourself that that is your identity.

If you start thinking of yourself as the new version of yourself, and you really believe that this new woman is your new identity, then that’s what your behaviours will always go back to because that’s who you believe you are.

Decide to be her

Decide that you are her. Every morning, step into this new version of yourself very intentionally.

Do it every day, even before you actually become her. Step into that version of yourself even as you are transforming into her.

Create You 2.0

You Version 1.0 was doing the best she could all along. She’s totally fine, nothing but love. But now you are done with that version.

You want 2.0 results, so step into who you are version 2.0. You get to decide who that is.

All your versions are amazing. Version 2.0 is just the next evolution of yourself. Like an iPhone, you get to create a new version of you as you evolve.

  1. Get a blank piece of paper and at the very top, write your name and 2.0.
  2. Define who this new version is. Get really clear and detailed. Ask yourself:
  • How does she dress?
  • How does she talk?
  • How does she feel?
  • How does she think?
  • What does she eat?
  • How does she feel when she’s making her food choices?
  • How does she feel when she’s getting dressed in the morning?
  • How does she make choices about whether she’ll go to the gym or not, what to order at a restaurant, or how confident she is about her food choices when others are around?
  1. Every morning, visualize her. Decide to step into the new version of yourself very intentionally.

Remember, if you keep thinking about yourself in that version 1.0 that’s exactly where you’re going to stay. That’s exactly the results you’re going to keep creating because you will always go back to what you believe that you are.

So start believing you are something different. Start believing you are who you want to be and step into that, visualize it, every morning.

Choose to be her very intentionally.
